Availability and Reliability
The SKplus FR9000 Storage System ensures high availability by utilizing fully redundant, hot swappable components for disk drives, power supplies, cooling modules and the Storage System components. The SKplus FR9000 also features dual active SP100 storage processors with transparent fail-over support to further increase availability. Integrated RAID level (0,1,3,5,1+0) provides data protection and helps keep business critical applications running.
Modular Configurations
The SKplus FR9000 is a “building block” component of SKplus’s line of storage solutions. Adding component “building blocks” enables storage administrators to quickly and cost effectively optimize storage solutions to changing application and network environments. Each SKplus FR9000 Storage System supports up to fifteen Fibre Channel disk drives. As storage requirements grow, another “building block” component, the SKplus FR9000-AM JBOD enclosure can be attached to the SKplus FR9000 Storage System to dynamically scale storage capacity to 17.6TB.
Investment Protection
The scalability feature of the SKplus FR9000 provides investment protection. Up to seven additional SKplus FR9000-AM JBOD enclosures can be attached to the SKplus FR9000 enclosure, providing up to 17.6TB of storage capacity. Additionally, as storage management requirements evolve, storage administrators have the option of enabling enhanced Storage Management Services such as storage virtualization, snapshots, remote replication, capacity management and policy based storage provisioning.
Enhanced Management through Foundation Storage Services
The optional Foundation Storage Management Services significantly enhance the productivity of storage administrators in a consolidated storage environment. By virtualizing storage pools, the SKplus FR9000 significantly decreases the cost of storage hardware through efficient storage allocation and increased disk utilization. Storage management services such as snapshot and remote replication enable server-less backups, disaster recovery, business continuity, data mining and application testing. In addition, the capacity management feature provides on-line virtual capacity expansion, solving a time and labor intensive administrator issue.
Ease of Use
Management of all the RAID and storage services is provided by the SKplus SAN Manager, an intuitive network based central management console. The policy based management tool enables the storage administrator to monitor and dynamically configure and manage a network of SKplus FR9000 storage systems and SKplus FR9000-AM JBOD enclosures.
